SWIM LESSONS

Swim Lessons @ BSC

Berkeley Swim Club offers a variety of levels of swim lessons, in accordance with the Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program.  Both small group and individual lessons can be scheduled.  Lessons are offered at a variety of times throughout the week.

 

Lessons are open to both members and non-members. Non-members will be added to any open spots in the class 1 week before the class begins.

 

Class listings, pricing and sign up links are below.  When you sign up, you will get a confirmation email to hold your spot.  Please then bring in cash or check payment to the office to guarantee your spot.  

Additional classes will be added throughout the summer.  

Swim Lesson Levels

Beginner:  Water Development

Entering and Exiting the pool, bobbing, blowing bubbles with face in water, floating on front and back, rolling over,                                                        combining arm and leg actions to make a productive stroke, pool and water safety. 

Intermediate: Beginning Stroke Development

Introduction of basic stroke technique of freestyle, breast stroke, and back stroke in order to gain water competency in the pool environment.  Use of rotary breathing in freestyle.  Treading water.  Diving board and deep end use with assistance of lifeguard. 

Advanced: Stroke Development

Continuation of stroke development, in order to swim 50-100 yards successfully.  Treading water for an extended amount of time, 30-120

seconds, using the egg beater and scissor kick.  Proper use of board, slide, and deep end, without assistance.  Preparation for participating on a swim team. 

Course Schedule and Fees

Courses are offered weekly, in 30 minute session, from Monday - Friday, from 12-1.  Classes begin at either 12 or 1230.  

Members - $50 per 5 session course

Non - Members - $125 per 5 session course
